About History as Panels
What We Do
Every day, History as Panels identifies the single most consequential world news event and transforms it into a professionally illustrated editorial comic strip. The result is an ongoing visual chronicle of world history — a graphic history book that grows one page at a time.
How It Works
Twice daily, our system analyzes global news to select the most historically significant event of the last 24 hours. It then generates a detailed comic strip composition — complete with panels, dialogue, captions, and visual narrative — in a polished editorial illustration style. Each strip is accompanied by a fact-check note providing historical context, verified facts, and forward-looking analysis.
Editorial Standards
We prioritize factual accuracy and responsible journalism. Every comic strip includes a fact-check section that clearly separates verified facts from interpretation. We prefer events with durable historical significance — geopolitics, conflict resolution, elections, scientific breakthroughs, and major economic shifts — over trivial or low-signal stories.
Our Mission
We believe world news should be accessible, engaging, and visually compelling. By presenting current events as comic strips, we make complex global stories easier to understand and more memorable. Our goal is to build a continuous, chronological comic book of world history that anyone can read from start to finish.
Technology
History as Panels uses AI to assist in both event analysis and illustration generation. The editorial approach — what to cover, how to frame it, and what context to provide — is guided by journalistic principles emphasizing accuracy, significance, and fairness.
